This is completely out of my normal reading preferences, but I needed a palette cleanser. And it turns out I really enjoy a lighter read once in awhile! This was a really fun read, and I devoured it in like two days. There were times that this ogling at the mega-rich was fun and entertaining, but it did wear on me a bit eventually. The constant obsession with wealth and status felt frustrating at times, knowing how much impact that money could have if directed in a different manner. I know it’s fiction, but we all know this kind of stuff goes on in real life all the time. I actually found Astrid’s storyline on the side to be the most interesting. Especially when she’s in Paris! Having been there so recently made me appreciate those sections so much. I don’t know that I truly care what happens to these characters, but I’ll probably read the next book just because the reading journey here was so fun!

Honestly a great book, just with so many (purposefully) characters you simply hate. Although the story itself was amazing, the plot twist at the end felt rushed and out of place. #JusticeForAstrid (gurl u deserve better)

my favourite thing about this was seeing rich east asians flaunt their money, that was it. the plot was meh, very predictable and the ending was so vague. there was no growth of characters and the main characters were very flat. i also didn't like the use of a lot of racial slurs and the term exotic used to describe good looking asian people, felt creepy

It’s a funny book, but there are some parts where reactions are missing. A lighthearted book. Would recommend

Drama 🎭, voyeurism ✈️, and the super rich of Asia 💎

This was a comedic romance full of super rich family drama 🤪 That dynamic of dating between the invisible lines of social classes.

On top of all that, it gives the reader a peek into Asian culture.🎏 I think that’s what I loved the most. All the details about customs and the descriptions of the homes + landscapes. 🎋
