Incredibly subtle satire!
Tempted to run out and get the next one right now.

Somehow managed to spend half the book confused over who was who (and who was related to who) and not 100% a fan of the plot, yet still really want to read the next one, lol.

This was a really fun read!
This book has a unique plot with none of the annoying trops. I have seen others describe this book as a fluffy romantic, I would disagree. Although this book has elements of romance I think this book is more about family dynamics and the societical pressure of the wealthy, upper class Asians.
However, I can't say I was particullary taken by any of the characters but I did like Rachel, Nick and Astrid.
One thing I struggled with was keeping track of the characters points of view as it switch between with little notice.
I originally only picked up this book in preparation for the movie. I am really excited to see Gemma Chan as Astrid!!
I'm not sure if I would continue this series as of yet, maybe if I was stuck for what to ready next.
I would recommend this book if you are looking for a fun, soapy read.

Was an easy read, and interesting at first, but got long at some point and the end was underwhelming. I guess that is what happens in romance novels. Not bad!
I also read this to understand rich people and the ridiculous inequality better, and it definitely helped. Plus lots of Singapore slang and knowledge in here!
