As someone who works for a company that provides MAT, this book broke me. I feel that the author did a fantastic job showing the impact that an individual's SUD has on those around them, while also showing the added stressor that is placed on individuals who are doing their best to enter recovery.

While that is the main focus, the way the author weaves the struggles of high school, adolescence, and the unfair notion that children are resilient throughout the storyline, truly made this a heart-wrenching story.

I don't think my words can truly give a fair review of this book, so I will leave it at that.

Heartbreaking. You can’t help people who don’t want to be helped. Good book about leaving with someone with an addiction

Maybe people just use different things to fill up the emptiness. Until it becomes less about feeling empty and more about feeding something else.”
