The Book Proposal by KJ Micciche is perfect for Sophie Kinsella and Louise Rennison fans. It has a quick, exciting plot full of laugh-out-loud moments, outrageous situations, and an endearing yet messy heroine.

Meet Gracie. She’s a romance novelist who, after several alcoholic beverages, emails her high school crush. Gracie finds herself thrown for a loop when he responds, and the two have a less-than-ideal beginning but work towards becoming friends in adulthood. Then their worlds collide in unforeseen chaos. Will her crush be swoon, sweet, and charming? Or will he be toxic and avoid the HEA we all want?

I enjoyed Micciche’s scene-stealing, down-to-earth, and deeply relatable cast of characters. The story is full of relatable moments and laugh-out-loud scenarios. Again, I must tout the well-established characters.

Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for an eARC in exchange for my honest review!

This was a very… silly book. Main character has to be called funny or hilarious I swear at least 20 times in this book. Don’t get me wrong some of it did make me laugh but you set the bar very high!! I found myself picturing the conversations with people laughing their heads off like… 🤨
The couple was meh. The story line so so. The humor ok. But the characters are obnoxious. One shat themself and it did nothing to move the plot along or had any sort of significance just thrown in there to make the character silly and cooky I guess. My face might be stuck in a cringe now after reading this

This was a very cute story. But one thing I guess I don't quite understand is the cover of the book. Nothing really happened on a subway, or near a subway entrance. Maybe they were trying to show the readers that it takes place in NYC? Well, besides my confusion on the cover and the story, I did enjoy the book!

This is the worst book I’ve ever read. Wouldn’t have finished but it was so baffling bc I couldn’t look away. Waited until the end for a big question to be answered and it never was.

I have to admit that i have mixed feelings, there were times that it was so cute and hilarious and there were times that the story was all over the place and i couldn't connect with the characters!
I'm intrigued to read KJs next stories!!

Thank you NetGalley , KJ and the publisher for providing me with this ARC

A book with all the tropes I usually hate, which combined made the book very much in my comfort zone. A male character I fell in love with. A female character who partially represents every person on earth. A writer and a lawyer, former classmates, who meet after years due to an email sent in a moment of poor sobriety. Light, flowing, and fun characters. The characters are over 30 but sometimes act like teenagers, perhaps because of their past. I would have liked to have talked more about the letters from their high school days and the growth of the two, but overall the book is very enjoyable (considering that it is also a debut)

Gracie is a rising author with a current case of writers block, with an approaching deadline and her livelihood on the line, Gracie can't help but what to celebrate little victories and go out with some friends. Enter Colin from high school, varsity athlete all 4 years and totally out of Gracie's league, or so she thought..
After a few too many drinks Gracie reaches out to Colin through his work email, and to her sober self's surprise he responds.
This book had me hooked from the moment I started it. I loved Gracie and how fun she was to read. Her second chance relationship with Colin was so sweet to read and I enjoyed how their relationship formed and developed through emails, phone calls, and dates. This is a great book for someone looking for a great read centering around second chance love.
