Incredibly poetic and absolutely heartbreaking. Reveals the often obscured reality of lesbian domestic violence.

Wow such a beautifully written memoir and thoughtful archive of abuse in lesbian relationships. It's such a violently real telling of her story scattered with historical information and beautiful metaphors. It's not so flat as to just say it happens and here is my story, but she builds the realm and adds in reflections that happen as she writes the book. It has a lot of different kind of mini stories which make the entire story really well-rounded and multidimensional. I love that it's not only a great story about queer romance that normalizes bisexuality, but she also talks about how queer people aren't perfect and to normalize queerness we also have to show the nonperfect parts just as you would in a straight relationship. so so well done and it's super quick and witty too so really easy to read in one sitting.
