When I try to find a right way to describe this book, one word pops into my mind: mediocre. It's just mediocre.

My expectations where high - I was so excited to pick up a book centered around queer characters. Especially since both of the writers are well known. But I must say it did not live up to my expectetion

Right now, couple months after reading it I can barely remember anything. The characters were not memorable, their relationship was not really involving.

What I do renember though is how cheesy and cringy this book sometimes felt. As a teeneger I must say this - I did not felt as if these characters could be real teenegers. That's why I cringed at some of their behaviour and conversations.

I really wanted this book to work for me, but well - it didn't.

anybody who knows me in person know I hate open endings for stand-alones. And this was one of those endings, where I thought: "ummm.. it can't end here? We're not done yet!"

Then why did I give this book such a good rating. You don't even know how much I caught myself smiling while reading this. It was realistic, romantic, dramatic, funny, cute and lovely. I really needed a book like this to cheer me up during my exams!

I'd say it's a 3.25 out of 5. I'm not always one for cutesy in books, but since this novel was named after a song in a musical, I guess dramatic and cute was the goal! :)

As a love story aimed towards younger audiences, I can see this book being a light lesson on how communication in relationships being confusing for couples and friends on both the straight and gay spectrums. I admire the authors' message (or what I saw as the message) to accept that life happens, and you can take advantage of it with some hope, humility, and risk.

Ben is extremely unlikeable and the romance isn't cute.

I was fighting through it, saw that I was only ~43% and then immediately decided to throw in the towel. Not worth it at all.

I think i’m giving this 3.5? The thing is, the end really made me want to rate it higher, but realistically i had a few problems with the book.

Honestly, I found Arthur and Ben to both be not great characters. Arthur was really annoying and immature, and not just in his “extra” personality way. Ben was low-key a dick, but i definitely liked him way more than Arthur.

Yes, their relationship was so cute, and I found myself almost crying, laughing, and smiling ear to ear many times. I just honestly think that the problem is with these two grown adults writing from a 17 year olds perspective.

As a teenager, I can definitely promise you that this is not how teenagers act or how life works at all. Also, I found it extremely cheesy, but that just might be me because I can’t take anything seriously.

i loved this book! not only was it cute and charming and funny, but it was real. the challenges ben and arthur face are those quiet ones that always feel so loud. the ending was bittersweet to me, so i’m excited to read the sequel!

This may sound weird but this book to me was like a big warm group hug. I loved Arthur and Ben and their relationship it was just so much fun to read. The setting of course made me feel at home because I love New York. Arthur, I swear we are twins in a way. The Hamilton lyrics to the ADHD.
