Ack- I thought I'd get some closure after the end of volume 1- but this is a completely different set of stories in the universe of the Beauty. It was alright... but I'm still in suspense about what happens after the events of volume 1.

A whole new cast of characters, no resolution or continuance of the first arc, and no further exploration of any part of The Beauty. These five issues make for a perfectly decent mob/revenge story, but if I wanted that, I'd be reading crime noir or something, not a comic that's supposed to be about an appearance altering STI.

Maybe this is all leading up to something incredible, but standing alone, this trade was kind of a snooze.

I loved Vol. 1 of this and was expecting a continuation of the story. It was at the point where I wasn't sure I hadn't just ordered them wrong thing from amazon, so different are the two. And to be honest, Vol. 1 was better. However, Vol. 2 does seem like it's helping to flesh out the world of the beauty. It was an interesting direction, and while I'd hoped it would lead on, I get the impression that future volumes will converge with each other. It was certainly an enjoyable read and I'm still willing to stick with it for future issues.
