so many twists! will keep you guessing until the end.

A very good storyteller, the author narrates a story of Will Robie who comes back to their hometown after learning that his father is in jail for murder. The last job Will Robie took as a dangerous and most lethal assassin, made his aim and concentration in shambles so coming home may help him overcome his problem.  However, when he saw his father, he was only greeted with anger and grunts. He also met his new stepmother, a young Jessica Reel, who is also one way or another involved in his father case. Despite his father’s refusal to let Will investigate the murder case, he went against it. Digging deep into the town’s secrets, including his past where unexpected facts surfaced. Baldacci takes you deep into the story, knowing the characters and letting your mind go in circles wondering what really happened.

Will Robie had a terrible outcome on one of his missions that made it impossible for him to continue doing is "job" effectively. It's suggested to him that the confront and resolve the issues from his past if he ever wants to be able to do his job well again.  He receives news that his father is arrested for murder and decides to return to his hometown to help exonerate his father while dealing with his own past issues in the process.  While there, several more murders occur and his own life is also being threatened.  In order to free his father and catch the culprit, Will has to figure out all of the secrets swirling around his small Mississippi hometown.  I enjoyed the action and intrigue in this book and I love Will Rabies's character.  Overall, an enjoyable read and I can't wait for the next book in the series.  I gave it a 3.8 out of 5 star rating.
