I liked this. It's a well written story with likeable and credible characters. It turns the simple red riding hood fairy tale on its head and makes it something new and different. I look forward to the next one.

Meh. Just ok. The last quarter was very fun but everything before that was just…meh. I also did it on audiobook and really regret it. The narrator’s mmc voice was horrendous and took me out of the story every time “he” spoke - think the mom in Back to the Future doing her old lady voice.

But I failed to become invested in the story or care what happened to the characters for the most part.

I enjoyed this, although I was surprised to get more Beauty and the Beast vibes from it than Little Red Riding Hood which I was expecting. I liked the characters, the story and all the rest of it tbh. I wasn't too keen on Neve's part of the story at first but I am intrigued about her ending and definitely wanna know more about her and Solmir and the Shadowlands in the sequel.

This is the first book following a massive book hangover, so slight caveat there. I loved this story but at times feel like the writing let it down. It wasn’t always clear, and I had to reread sections to make sure I was understanding. Just not great flow, despite having compelling plot. I will still read the next in the series, because I enjoyed the world enough.
