I don’t read a lot of YA books, so I was hesitant to pick this one up, but the premise sounded too interesting to resist. I ended up liking it overall, though there were some parts I didn’t love. For one thing, it felt like these high schoolers were older than high school, so it took me out of their world a little bit. I also thought the end conveniently wrapped up a little too quickly. The main problem I had with this book was that some of the plot points felt unresolved at the end. I did, however, enjoy the mystery and the social commentary laced throughout. It’s an interesting book and definitely something important for young readers to pick up.

I did really like this.
It had a lot of interesting characters, and I appreciated the different experiences of queerness, and how your surroundings had such a big impact.
The plot was really interesting, however the book was a bit slow at points, especially in the beginning and the end.
