Ok this book has SO many levels to get into but my favorite thing about this is that the main character with anxiety is written as a neutral person (not bad not great). She has redeeming qualities while also having faults. I did not care for the male main character. I think his personality explains itself.
The ending was confusing to say the least, I’m not sure if it was all that realistic, but overall it was a good plot with a great layout.

I have no idea why these two still ended up together if I'm being honest here. It's not even the cheating that turned me off; it's that their relationship was lackluster and shallow and has the kind of toxicity that I deplore in romance books. I'm not even convinced that they were in any way, shape, or form in love with each other. I wouldn't even be surprised if they would end up breaking up for real in the future

This book delivered with the angst!! Lani and Logan’s relationship definitely had their ups and down but it didn’t stop me from rooting for them. Lani and Logan really played with my heartstrings throughout the whole book. Couldn’t put this down. Ended up reading it in one sitting. ❤️

I’m surprised I enjoyed this as much as I did! It’s not quite a five star but note to future ebony: you can read this one again!

This book is filled with the angst. Both characters start out as likeable characters. She suffers from panic attacks and social anxiety, but her quirkiness (mostly due to those issues) is one of the things that he first finds attractive about her. With her mental illness always in the back of her head, she builds a wall around her to protect herself from hurt, and doesn't completely trust anyone, including him. He is patient though and doesn't give up on her. Just when they finally get to a good place in their relationship, all hell breaks loose. This is where she starts losing some of her likeability. She changes, and not for the better. Some of her feelings are warranted, and some not so much. She gets quite verdictive in her revenge plan for getting back at him for how he wronged her (even though we don't really find out exactly how he had wronged her until near the end.) And while he remains likeable throughout, there are things that take place that don't put him in the best of light, and he has his own personal issues as well. No matter their behaviors, you do still root for them and want to see them be together, and you want to see her get help and become the person she once was. There is a lot of feelings involved. Mostly sad and anger. There is some light humor, but it is mostly a heavy heart read. The timeline bounces between the past and present and takes place over the course of a year. In addition to the mental illness issue, there is also addiction involved. There is some sexual content. Due to the subject matter, I would recommend this for mature readers. Great book for a authors debut.

Oh I loved this book.

Yes, there are somethings in this book that make others say "heck no" but honestly? Some things need to happen.

These characters are flawed and I was here 1000%.

College boy breaks up with his “crazy ex” and stumbles face first into another relationship. This is the most toxic couple I’ve ever read a book about, probably because it’s pretty realistic.
