A weird, filthy mess that made me laugh out loud and reminded me of the early John Waters. It was enjoyable, but not for the faint of heart or those unfamiliar with his movies and sense of humor.

frankly an exhausting read. quickly into the novel i realized that most of the joy i take from waters’ films is his visual style, his collaborations, the way all that comes together onscreen. none of that here, so it’s just a slog of sOOoOO RanDoM scenes and bad jokes. the last third is downright painful.

it did make me feel bad. i think i didn’t absorb this correctly by audiobook. very perverted. orgasming in the airport? stalking and tickling a freak who gets off on it?

I truly cannot imagine picking up this book without being familiar with John Waters and then going on this rollercoaster. Every single page of this book is absolutely absurd and the entire book left me scratching my head - what did I just finish reading? What did I just finish experiencing?
