This was the first comic series I ever read (unless you count Garfield)! I must've been about 12 when I first read it and I loved it back then.
The world is gorgeous and the story full of friendship. Seriously, the artwork is stunning. Cute characters, a beautiful colour palette and a warm-hearted tone keep it up there with my favourites.
The dialogue is a little dated, there are tropes and clichés galore, but that doesn't spoil the fun!
Bizarrely, I had completely forgotten the ending. I can't make up my mind whether I love or hate it. I think it knocked the stuffing out of teenaged Rae though.
Sadly, Mike Wieringo tragically passed away in 2007. The artwork brings these stories to life and so I can't imagine there will be any more Tellos. This volume stands alone as a complete story arc and is definitely worth a read.
