The author is a veterinarian, so I thought this book would contain stories of animals he met in the course of his practice. Well, it is, however, his "practice" was as a vet to laboratory animals, which made for an interesting perspective. Through the course of his lab career he struggles with the ethical issues involved, but I am happy to report his main concern is always the health and welfare for the animals. All in all, it was a good read.
