This book was okay but was kind of a tease. Every time you thought they would get together something came up. I realize some people like that but I prefer more romance and spicy in my books so this book just wasn't for me.

i liked how the sexual tension were written. i actually enjoyed it even though sometimes there are scenes where i feel like im reading a cliche start of a porn film.

i like the dialogue and the overall writing style. it was easy to understood and easy on the eyes to read as well.

i just don’t like the actual sex scenes. the tension and foreplay scenes are great but it the sex part was a bit anticlimactic for me…

also, i was a bit annoyed at clara during the argument on the last chapters because idk, she acts like a baby. but this is not something that affects my perception of the book. i still like it

I'm massively concerned that the main character has no friends. Like no one. Everett maybe but I mean people she can talk to. It was weirdly absent. Like she moved across the country, rekindled a relationship with her estranged aunt, was abandoned by her only California connection, started a new job, and started a new company in a span of days (maybe weeks). And she never talks to a single third party person not directly involved in the listed things above.

It was jarring to have a complete lack of a support system without it being more a plot point / addressed.

It just leaves a bad taste in your mouth like "hey girl, while you are lucky your life didn't implode, you really need to make some fundamental changes so we avoid this teetering on the edge in the future " rather than a sweet taste of like "girl I am so happy everything worked go and live your HEA".

I like the premise, especially with Josh being an adult film star and the stigma attached to sex for pay. The conversation could definitely have been deeper about it, however. The relationship between Josh and Clara felt a little surface level; a lot of how they were attracted to each other. Which is fine! But, there could have been more on their personalities and how the other loved that so much about them.

2022 Popsugar Reading Challenge - A book with a quote from your favourite author on the cover or Amazon page

3.5 stars - This was a fun read and not what I expected it to be. The main characters are roommates obviously and are opposites in so many ways. Antics ensue and then there is some romance. This book is sassy and sexy. One of the roommates jobs was not expected and was for sure a unique one. A great fun romance.

I wanted more romance instead of whatever this was but good for them.

Not as good as the second one, but there were moments where that depth peaked out. A little disjointed, and the on and on not communicating how they feel was driving me crazy, but in the end a nice sweet story with a lot of 🔥 too.
