The true story of two male penguins in the Central Park Zoo who courted each other and then raised a chick together. With the help of the zoo keeper, Roy and Silo take charge of an abandoned egg, which they hatch and raise. The baby chick was named Tango, "because it takes two to make a Tango."
Naturally, I'm game to give my son-of-Republicans godson any book with liberal-leaning tendencies, but you don't need to be of any political persuasion to enjoy this tender story of penguin love and an unconventional family.

An absolutely adorable book about two male penguins who love each other and want to have a little penguin of their own like the other penguin families! This book is so delightful and to know it's a true story makes it even better. It's a bit lengthy for storytime, but one I'd absolutely recommend on best picture book lists or great LGBTQ+ picture book lists.

This book is based off some real penguins at the Central Park Zoo who are partners and took in an egg. It's a sweet story of a couple of penguins finding each other, taking care of an egg, and raising a family. ~Ashley

This book is extremely creative, in both the storyline and the image depictions of the penguins. It covers the topics of both gay marriage and adoption. And Tango Makes Three gives positive examples of a welcoming community that surrounds non-nuclear families. I definitely recommend this book. My only negative feedback is that they main characters are animals, rather than humans. This aspect is cute, however, children cannot relate to a penguin as much as they can another human character. But I definitely recommend and love!

What can I say about this book. This is the most adorable book I have read.
Two male penguins fall in love, when they start noticing that the other penguin couples have eggs the two penguins try to find an egg but unfortunately they couldn't find one. Alas, the zoo keeper had an egg with no home and thought it would be a wonderful idea to give the egg to the two male penguins. This book shows that the same sex couples can rise a child!
