Okay, Peter Swanson. I see you! Coming out of nowhere with that plot twist.

Before She Knew Him is a fresh take on the psychological thriller.

Read if you:
1. Like a sprinkle of really dark characters
2. End up routing for Dexter when watching the eponymous tv show

Matthew, Matthew, Matthew. What an interesting character. And his backstory... I need a prequel, Mr. Swanson!! I am left with so many questions after reading this book. Not the annoying, "why didn't you answer them in the novel" kind of questions. The questions that are the foundation for a series of novels. Why was his dad so messed up? What was his mother really like?? Can I hear more about Hen?
SpoilerWhy was Lloyd such a low key player?
What's up with Floyd? And Mira - tell me more. She had to know something.

Anyway - read this book. You won't regret it.

In the world of books that are competing to have the biggest twist, this one was a good one and there wasn’t like 5 of them (aka not overdone and competing with itself). Well done Peter Swanson!

Just ok.

An interesting read although I wished it to be a bit more .. something. Maybe just a bit more in general.

Good thrillers present unreal scenarios that feel plausible. This one, a woman discovers something at a dinner party with her neighbour that puts everyone in danger, is extremely contrived and feels soft. Some of the twists work but it ends whimpering. Swanson’s weakest by far.

WHAT. A. GREAT. FU**ING. BOOK!
