After listening to The Kind Worth Killing and now Before She Knew Him, I’m wondering if Peter Swanson has his own philosophical obsession with the idea that some people are so awful that they deserve to be killed—and therefore it’s all good. Agree or disagree, this is still a darn good listen.
I had a great time reading this psychological thriller which kept me spellbound until the end. The atmosphere is devilishly well rendered and the suspense is very present. I would love to read another book by Peter Swanson soon!
I read Before She Knew Him earlier in the month and to be quite honest, I think I've forgotten about most of it already. I remember enjoying it while reading, but for me, it's just one of those that didn't stick with me after finishing it. I did like the mental illness aspect that it focused on and was glad there wasn't an over the top, highly unbelievable, twist at the end. 3/5🌟

Three and a half stars just because I figured it out halfway through! Still a really good book.
This thriller was a fun ride, but also kind of formulaic. I'm starting to feel like these book of the month club books are either absolutely amazing standouts or, like this one, slightly predictable thrillers that exist just for the twists and gotchas.
