Great book, but too many characters to keep track of. Many had little or nothing to do with the plot.
I’ve read all of Lisa Jewell’s previous books so I was excited to receive this one from Netgalley. I enjoyed it, but not as much as the others. I found the first half really slow and found it hard to pick up and carry on with. However, by 60% I was really enjoying it and was intrigued to find out how it would end.

I really enjoy Lisa Jewell’s books and this one did not disappoint. It kept me guessing. Nice little twist at the end.
Une découverte pour ma part de la plume de l'autrice avec Rentre avant la nuit. Et ce fut une très bonne découverte!
L'intrigue est bien ficelée et apporte son lot de suspense bien que j'ai deviné cette dernière à mi-chemin. Cependant le twist de fin apporte de la vraie surprise et du coup cela ne m'a pas vraiment dérangé.
On suit plusieurs thèmes assez forts dont certains que je ne peux vous dévoiler qui sont je trouve plutôt bien abordés et certains personnages vous glacent le sang de froideur.
J'ai trouvé le personnage de Sophie très attachant et sa quête de réponses en compagnie de la mère de Tallulah rythmée et réussie.
Ce ne sera pas mon thriller préféré de tous les temps mais c'est un ouvrage qui se dévore sans modération et qui donne envie de découvrir les autres récits de l'autrice.

this was just such a fun mystery to solve and I love Lisa Jewell’s way of weaving clues into her stories and making all the unrelated threads come together at the end!!!
I’m surprised by how much I liked this one! I think, in particular, the balancing of all the threads, arcs, and plots was incredibly well done and was one that I only liked more the more I read. Domestic thriller can get so mediocre nowadays, but this was a really great one. Slow-burn, with meaningfully complicated darkness at its heart.
This was decent enough, I guess I just didn’t care all that much about it and will forget it entirely by tomorrow. I was super slow to read this because I actually had things going on in my life - shocker, I know - but I wasn’t feeling a burning need to get back to it either.
