This was just... Hell I don't really know. I have never read a book with so much sex while not being turned on at all. It felt almost blasfemisk to skim and skip the sex scenes.
But there's a tiny bit that I like... I can not put my finger on it. I like the story (in between all the sex) in the first 2/3 of the bool
The "big bad" never really touch me. It felt forced and sudden. And the making up felt rushed and glossed over.
At one point Jake put all the problems with this book into words:

That was spot on (and yet they just kept on with the fucking).
But even though I cannot explain why, I will give the next book a chance.

Is there such a thing as too much sex in a romance? Well, after reading this, I think yes. Definitely.
It felt as if the author was wondering, Mmhh, how will I finish this sentence? I'll put a sex scene! And truly, there are only so many variations possible for how tab A goes into slot B.

Still, it was a great story, with interesting characters and an emotional journey worth reading about.

Do I want to know how it continues? Hell yeah!

I’m kinda conflicted over this one. Cowboys aren’t my fave trope, because the “strong, silent type” usually annoys me from the lack of communication. However, I gave this one a go mostly because I was told it was super

Wow, what a book! This took me on an emotional rollercoaster ride and though I enjoyed it very much I have to say I was just as happy to get off the ride. I look forward to reading the second book but for now I need a little break from Jake and Tor.

If it weren't for that thing that had no place in this book.... this would have been easily a 4 star read. maybe 4.5. but then THAT came out of nowhere and for no reason whatsoever.
I read this years ago and still get mad thinking about this book.

And then knowing about the crossover and what happened then!!! JUST NO!

This was a great book drowning in too many sex scenes. Good sex scenes, mind you, but too many. Cut half of them, and this was a five-star book about the importance of communication and trust and forgiveness and love.

I got this book at Fredericton's 2012 Pride celebrations, and it's signed by the author, yay. She was very sweet and excited and clearly loves her characters.

It's about two cowboys who fall for each other and the complications that can arise from that. Lots of family stuff, which I thought was really good. I liked both of the main characters and their growth and developments as the book went along was well done.

My biggest critiques are that the book could have been trimmed back a little, it was kinda long-ish and took me a while to read. There were also a lot of "steamy" scenes, which were enjoyable, but sometimes chapter after chapter was just that and I felt like it distracted from the plot a bit.

Overall, well done.
