A wonderful fantasy novel perfect to pick up a read. The world building folds in to the character introduction of Agnieszka, it's very organic. The pace of the story is like an inch worm where things progress very rapidly and then the resolution and Agnieszka's POV gives it a nice reflection.

The magic system fits so well with the character development and is integrated into the world building that it doesn't ever feel like it's used as a plot device.

The supporting characters a fleshed out nicely to complement the story but you still wanna strangle a few of them (several times over).

Definitely has re-readability potential.

Really good! Darker than I thought it would be, personally would have liked more of the romance

I'm not sure who recommended this book to me, but I found it very hard to follow the story line. The reader also had an interesting accent that made it a bit hard to understand and may be why I could not fully enjoy it.

Wizards and magic! Yay! Agnieszka is a smart heroine who is a little on the messy side of appearances. She understands magic in a different way then most and that frustrates the Dragon to no ends. The woods, the capital, and the tower made for very interesting settings and I liked the various friendships and relationships in the book. Overall this was a refreshing stand alone book! She left room for sequels but it had a satisfying ending.
