I loved this book. The writing is beautiful. The characters are wonderful people who love and support one another even through their bickering and moodiness. I loved the science and the discovery and also the adherence to their mission goals. This story isn’t about them. It’s about us.

Sobbing! I am sobbing at the end of this beautiful story. Chambers crams so much content into so few pages. Genius. It will temporarily shatter your soul, but it's worth it.

This is an interesting little space exploration story about exploring new planets while receiving very little information from Earth. once they discover no one is able to respond from Earth, they decide to use their remaining fuel to reach a previously unreachable place. I would have liked more of the story to be after that decision rather than before, but this is still a beautiful and thoughtful novella.
