I enjoyed this, but not nearly so much as the first. There were some plot developments I enjoyed, but most of the character development fell flat in my opinion. Still, though, it was fun.

I’m in the middle of rereading some of my old favorites I from when I was younger to see if they were actually good or was I just an infant reader.

I’m glad this is the series I started off with.

The writing continues to be fabulous. The characters continue to develop and change through the series. The plot twist are proper twists as they string you along as much as the girls in the story. Overall it’s just a solid enjoyable story.

This second installment was fantastic even if I did guess some major things awfully early on (and I didn't want to be right, but I was). This book still amazes me in a lot of ways and it really is a terrific inspiring book for young women - it really shows you how privileged women are today and yet how some things are terribly the same. Which is I'm sure what she's going for.

What a smart second book - I'm in love with Bray's fusion of magic and intelligence mingled in a precisely researched society. Delightful.

This series is definitely getting better with this second book.

The story overall was cute and interesting, but some of it felt very contrived,
especially the whole anagram bit.
I will say, though, that as a teen I thought the whole thing was utterly brilliant.

I really couldn't get into this one. It's very obvious that a certain someone they've been reunited with has ulterior motives and I got bored. Will try again at some point.
