I liked this a lot. I'm not sure what I was expecting from this but it was quite good and interesting. Especially the way it was told - in a childish, short and sweet format but with subject matter that is probably not for children.

Love Vivek but this left something to be desired. This definitely had moments that I loved reading, but I think I need to read her fuller works too.

One of Shraya's stronger works, God Loves Hair details a queer Indian male's journey through adolescence and finding inner peace in his own religion. It is sweet, poignant and delicate work, with the naive heartfelt angst of the teenage years on blast.

Collection of short stories about growing up Indian, Hindu, and queer in Canada during the '90s. A quick read with great artwork, but the Jodeci and Bugle Boy references might make it tough sell for today's teens.

Honestly, I think Vivek Shraya is an artistic goddess and I would honestly read her shopping list, or listen to her playing ukulele under the shower, or other ridiculous things.
This little book nwas especially lovely, with georgeous illustrations and hard hitting but untimatley sweet little stories about gwoing up queer and brown.

I liked this book. I can't quite remember many details a few months after reading it, but I do remember enjoyed it at the time. A good quick read.

Really enjoyed this short story collection that follows short snippets of one person’s life, I feel like that’s such a fascinating and great concept. Loved the exploration of growing up, identity, queerness and religion throughout
