Alternated between fascination and boredom - relatively standard response from me to reading a memoir. If you're a fan of them and/or John Waters - this is probably a good choice for you. His account of taking LSD for the first time in decades with Mink Stole is one particularly noteworthy moment.

With the help of the Pope of Trash, you'll be a chimp-art collecting radical feminist with good bad taste. You'll aspire to never fly coach and take LSD in your later years. John Waters is my hero, and he should be yours too.

If you're familiar with John Water's work, you know what to expect. There were some chapters that were better than others, but really, how do you critique the King of Filth?!

I especially recommend the audio book, as he narrates it himself, which definitely enhances the experience!

A little boring. I loved reading about his films. Once he stopped talking about his films, it was just like over the top film pitches or a stand up routine or various topics.

This is best enjoyed as an audiobook. IF you are a fan you will enjoy Waters' bits of life advice and interesting stories about his films.
