An interesting take on the legend of King Arthur, where we get Morgan Le Fay's inagined story and Merlin is viewed as villainous and conniving.

I believe this was my first encounter with anything Arthurian (aside from the TV show, Merlin) and I had a good time. I enjoyed the feminist spin with the highlight being on the women forgotten, villainified, or perhaps non-existent in original tales (such as Young Hag and her mother).

It was a good tale of matriarchial generations, magic lost and found, coming of age and a good old fashioned prophecy quest.

I’m down to read anything based around the Arthurian legends. That goes for double when it’s female focused.
I loved the story of Young Hag so much! This style of artwork probably isn’t for everyone but it’s definitely for me. Often times it reminded me of Adventure Time (which I also love).

—I had access to an eARC but unfortunate the quality of the download was too poor to read. Luckily my library had a copy and I was able to borrow it shortly after it’s release. I will absolutely buy my own copy now.

I love a King Arthur story, and this was refreshing and fun. Full of magic of all kinds!

Thank you Netgalley, ABRAMS Kids, and Abrams Fanfare for the ARC!

- I love King Arthur/Camelot stories, and this one was such a fun rendition of the legends!
- It can be hard to still have unexpected twists in retellings/remixes, but this one managed to keep me guessing while also keeping true to the legends!
- I loved the art style, and it showed the mischievous energy of Young Hag so well.
- The way the story mixed in stories with the main plot was so well done!
