One of the best from the Brother Cadfael series so far. The focus is on the orphaned Iveta, heiress to great lands, whose guardians intend to marry her off at a profit. Iveta’s heart belongs to another, however. When her intended bridegroom is found murdered, Iveta’s young lover is accused. Only Cadfael can figure out what truly happened.
