I really wanted to enjoy this story as much as the first two in the series but something was lacking for me personally. The writing was great, and the characters well developed. It may have been the amount of erotic scenes, but that was to be expected after the last two books. Sadly, while I still enjoyed the novel something didn't quite click for me.

I do recommend the series though, and look forward to reading Elise and Rome's story.

The Expert’s Guide to Driving a Man Wild, Bluebonnet #3, by Jessica Clare
Grade: C-

“So the thought of aggravating me turns you on?”

Brenna loves her job and the best part is driving her boss Grant crazy with pranks, her carefree attitude and lack of origination skills. As much as Brenna loves to mess with Grant, no one else is and when his parents arrive and try to set him up on dates she steps in to save the day. Now pretending to be Grant’s girlfriend the two are finding that it’s not very hard to pretend to be into each other. As things get serious Brenna’s past catches up with her and her instincts are to run away from Grant and the emotions that he brings.

Grant has been a widow for five years and no matter how many times he tells his mom he doesn’t want to date she never listens. When Brenna comes up with a plan he know he should say no, especially since Brenna drives him crazy, but it’s much easier than getting set up by his mother. The more time Grant spends with Brenna the more she starts to heal him and he understands more and more about her carefree lifestyle. Grant soon finds himself wanting to keep dating Brenna even after his family leaves but getting her to agree will take everything Grant has and more.

This book was such a disappointment! I really enjoyed this series so far and was looking forward to Grant and Brenna’s story but I found it very slow and Grant and Brenna drove me crazy. Brenna has had a rough life but her lack of emotions and other people’s feelings really drive me crazy. She cared but only enough to not really care and she just seemed like a robot at times. I almost stopped reading because she bothered me so much with her lack of emotion about anything.

Grant was a little better than Brenna but not much. Grant has a very messed up view of relationships and how to deal with people he’s in a relationship with. I found myself rolling my eyes at his thoughts on how his relationship with Brenna should go just because they had some great sex. I felt that these two could have been so cute to read about but they both turned out to just be awful. Grant and Brenna had really great sex scenes but other than that it was almost painful.

The only thing that really saved this book was the set up of the next book between Rome and Grant’s sister Elise. I ‘m hoping that Grant and Brenna was just a fluke and this series will get back on track with these two.

WOW.... Such a sexy book.
Absolutely wow.
You know those lovely, bubbly reads that leave you with a smile on your lips..?
yeah. this book definitely tops the list. Even this book's predecessor, "The care and feeding of an alpha male" left me with the same feelings. Just sooo happy to have picked up this book as a nice weekend read.
I absolutely adore Jill Myles' writing and she always manages to sprinkle life onto her characters with real-life situations, conversations and absolutely mind blowing between-the-sheets action.
*wink wink*
I love reading books about Alpha males. And Grant is by far one of the most sexy, sensitive and sweetly persuasive protagonists I have read about. EVER...! ☺
And Brenna...? Her character development was perfect. I could relate a lot to her. Being a commitment phobic myself, I took great pleasure in reading about Grant's feelings on Brenna's behavior which was really sweet and absolutely realistic.
Right from the beginning to the last page, I was mentally nodding my head at Brenna's antics. Both the protagonists' character was well evolved and beautifully portrayed.
I am definitely on a Jessica Clare Readathon. Even a dark read like " Last Hit" was absolutely beautiful. Nothing more to say about that book. Beautiful.
So, not just "The Expert's Guide to Driving a man Wild", I will go ahead and recommend the entire Bluebonnet series to anyone who is looking for a fun, flirty and naughty read...
So, here's a Must-read... *Thumbs-up*

I had high hopes for this story, and after seeing these two interact with each other, I was super excited. However, I almost didn't finish it, it drove me nuts (just a little bit). The first part of the story, I really liked. I loved Brenna, with her crazy hair, tattoos and bubbly personality and her insistence for all sex relationship...no strings!! Then we have our yummy hero, who is uptight, controlling and possessive. (I really loved him). Then Brenna got too strange, she tended to be so blase about any real feelings in their relationship and got mad whenever Grant wanted more in their relationship. In some ways I hated the way she treats Grant. Then Grant kinda got weak in his character, when he just let her do whatever. It didn't fit with who he was in the beginning. I really wanted to enjoy it more, but the heroine really had me struggling with it, she was annoying and over the top on certain issues that didn't make sense. Also, I didn't feel the connection between these two other than lust. There was no emotional intimacy at all. It was more erotica than a romance. Which was sad because this book had so much potential. But at least the first half of the story was good and I really loved seeing the first meeting between Elise and Rome.

Eh... I didn't like the heroine. Relationships should be about compromise... and he compromised way too much for her. Definitely looking forward to the next one though!!

Super fun and totally HOT!! This is one of my top favorite series. And it keeps getting better.
Can't wait till the next book: The Virgins Guide To Misbehaving- out in June!

So, this was my first book in the ‘Bluebonnet’ series . I liked it well enough, but to be honest, I just didn’t love it.

Brenna is the unpredictable, free-spirit and Grant… well, he’s not. He’s straight-laced and still mourning the death of his wife from five years ago. When Grant’s family shows up for an extended visit, and the pressure is immediately on him to move on, Brenna does the only thing she can think of. Pretend to be his girlfriend.

I don’t know if it’s because I didn’t read the previous novels in this series, because it’s possible, but I didn’t really feel any kind of connection for either Grant or Brenna here. By the end of the book they just felt so flat to me, and that’s even when all the secrets are revealed.

For Brenna, I guess I ultimately understood her issues… but I don’t know if it 100% made sense to me.
I get that the hoarding made her feel like she didn’t want to keep things… but why the aversion to relationships? That is what I just couldn’t grasp when everything was explained

For Grant… I don’t know, I guess for still mourning his wife as much as he apparently did, I felt like he just jumped into bed with Brenna without a second thought. Add in the fact that after the first time they sleep together he’s pushing for a commitment… and It just didn’t really work for me.

That said, Clare does a great job with the chemistry between these two. There are some definite steamy and hot moments in this book! There are of course, the misunderstandings and the making up and it’s definitely a bit predictable, but it works for a lighthearted romance. For the most part, this was a cute read, and I can definitely see where this series will expand.

If you’re looking for a new series with a small town feel, and some definite steam, check out the Bluebonnet Series.
