I enjoyed this book and could not put it down. Between the detectives having to do their job with an impending hurricane on the horizon, and trying to find a murderer in a small town in Florida before the storm hits, it was super tense and thrillery. I figured out who the murdered was before the main character did, but it did not spoil how the ending played out. And while the story did not end on a cliffhanger per say, it left the story open for the series to have real potential (which I liked).

Great writing by Shannon Esposito! I will definitely continuing with this series, and plan to check out more of her books!

I've rarely read such a great framework plot. The main crime plot and the situation the story plays in is so greatly tied together, it's astonishing.

The plot tells the story of Mila, a Detective working the case of a young mother who was found dead in an abandoned lifeguard stand. The case appears to be suicide but Mila and the team work together to truly figure out what happened to the young woman. If it was suicide or something else entirely.
A Hurricane is fast approaching and they have to work against the clock to solve the case that lays before them, before the whole town shuts down.

Simply said: I was amazed by this book. As I mentioned before, the framework this plot plays in was greatly executed. The Hurricane added such an element of time into the book, you basically felt the clock ticking.
There weren't too many characters so it wasn't overwhelming and you gotten to know everyone.
The case felt really professionally written and it felt like a true crime investigation.
I am truly excited for the next book in this series!
