Most of these stories were well written, but the percentage of them that really appealed to me was pretty small. There's a little bit of everything in here, and I guess I'm just a picky reader.

The ones I really liked:
The High Lonesome Frontier (Rebecca Campbell)
A Dead Djinn in Cairo (P. Djeli Clark)
Autobiography of a Traitor and a Half-Savage (Alix E. Harrow)
The City Born Great (N.K. Jemisin)
The Maiden Thief (Melissa Marr)
The Great Detective (Delia Sherman)
Her Scales Shine Like Music (Rajnar Vajra)
That Game We Played During the War (Carrie Vaughn)

That's 8 out of 25 stories I'm really glad I read, which makes the anthology totally worth it because I don't think I would have read any of the above if they hadn't been in this collection, but only numerically warrants 2 out of 5 stars.
