There is so much I want to say about this stunning conclusion to the best series I have read in 2024 and all of them are spoilers BUT DAMMIT I JUST WANT TO SCREAM ABOUT HOW MUCH I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!

Based on books 1 & 2, and on the reviews of others, I had high hopes going into this book. They were exceeded beyond reasonable measure! The writing, plot, world building and character work all came together so cohesively and clearly demonstrated Chakraborty’s skills and growth as a writer.

After the end of book 2, I really did not know what to expect from this story and that same sentiment continued throughout the story – how would they fix this, where would the go next, how could they possibly get a happy ending?!?!?! Chakraborty needs a stern talking to after what she put them (and me) through but also a dang medal because OHMYGOD what a ride!

Delving slightly into spoiler territory here so proceed with caution but one thing I especially enjoyed was that everyone suffered, bad things happened, and not everything wrapped up in a neat little bow. I loved the ending BUT I can see how one or two elements in particular may displease some people. One thing in particular seemed to cause some consternation amidst reviews I have read *cough* Dara *cough* which I get but personally, I was there for it.

This truly was the perfect conclusion to this series in my opinion and I am so glad that I read this at a time when all the books were out so that I could read them one after another, and that I actually did (instead of my typical “I’ll get to that”). I loved everything about this series and I look forward to my bestie bookclub reading Chakraborty’s latest at the end of this year.

This is such an amazing book and all the characters get the ending they deserve without it being a boring “happily ever after” ending. I loved it so much.
