I last read this book in the 1980s and really didn’t remember much about it. Just Danny Glick. I had forgotten about the haunted house and the place of evil.
I definitely didn’t remember all the slurs... which really dates the book. I think it is there to show that the people are uneducated, but it was unsettling. It disappeared once the actual horror started. The horror is well done, so creepy. And Danny Glick, shiver.
