I only read this book because I accidentally purchased Getting The Girl which is the 3rd book in the series thinking it was a stand alone.
I love Markus Zusak but sadly his style of writing was the only thing dragging this book to 3 stars...
I STILL LOVE YOU ZUSAK AND THANK YOU FOR THE BOOK THIEF ❤️
(Just in case he ever reads this)

This is actually kind of a fascinating read if you, like me, love The Book Thief and think it's a heartbreaking work of staggering genius. Reading the Underdog trilogy is sort of like excavating ancient ruins to discover how, say, the Romans became the Romans, except for readers.

(I totally acknowledge that much or all of that analogy may be anthropologically imprecise. I have nothing to say in my own defense on that score).

P.S. I can't believe I just had to select 2014 on the pull down menu.

Just... no.

I liked it but it wasnt that interesting. Nothing really happened. It was like it was just the beginning of the book. Well it was the beginning of the series but still. I liked the relationship between Kameron and his brother. Overall, I liked it and will probably read the rest of the series.
