You may have encountered Dom Helder Camara’s famous quote before - “When I feed the poor they call me a saint. When I ask why so many people are poor they call me a communist.” This book collects excerpts of his writings and poetry.
It’s a decent collection that’s mostly thoughtfully organized, although I found it felt a bit disjointed in places. I found myself wanting more of a biography of Dom Helder, but still appreciating his words, especially those writings sourced from “Through the Gospel”.
