Feels like The Leftovers X Ted Lasso and some of the Fredrik Backman magic. Love his storytelling style, and how he gets us really into so many characters' minds, seamlessly having us empathize with them and their actions --- was a bit slow at times and didn't have to be so

There’s a reason I have 70 highlights in this book. And there’s a reason I’ve had to pace myself reading it so I could sit with the characters for a bit. This is one of a very few books I’ve ever yelled at. (It usually went “No. NO. No, no, no, no, nooooooo.”) Us Against You is even better than Beartown, and who could have known that was possible?
