This book is an absolute fucking nightmare, I mean this in the best way possible. 
Not for even the remotely faint of heart, I usually have a strong stomach for media like this but event I had to avoid the book for a couple of days when my real life got stressful.

I love me some good horror and man was this book traumatizing. Told my friends about it and they were concerned for me. Love the horror element, took half a star off because I would prefer for a cishet man, not to say the f slur but what can you do? I will say, I wasn’t bored and was kept on the edge of my seat! I have a SHIT TON of annotations and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good horror!

I didn't not like this book, and the writing wasn't bad. That said, I wished the author had gone a little harder. This is sort of a modern-day retelling of Lord of the Flies, but one of the characters is a literal sociopath. I wanted to see the boys dealing with the situation, but instead, they had the unnecessary extra obstacle of another boy. This extra obstacle detracted from the story, in my opinion. I also don't feel like the story said anything new about the theme.

this book was such a harrowing read. after reading i just felt gross, which i think is what the author had it mind. it reminds me very much of lord of the flies, minus the cannibalism. overly, this book was amazing. the detail, the characters, everything was written with so much purpose and detail that it was hard to put down.
