I liked the personal chapters, I always like the memoir authors who are unapologetically hot messes. however this one seems to be over apologetic about their own whiteness/privilege? to the point that the (heavily american-centric) political bits were surrounded by performative disclaimers that she knows her privilege and needs to unlearn patriarchy and blah blah blah
god you don't have to remind us that you're white and cis every three chapters. we get it
maybe the author is just preemptively acknowledging criticisms, which tracks for her as a majority of the personal chapters are about her desperately seeking validation. which is not hugely relatable to me and gets on my nerves a bit actually.
love reading about their dating woes tho. funny.

I have no words to describe my love for this book. I laughed, I cried, I reflected on my queer experience…what more could you ask for!? I don’t usually write reviews but my love is overfilling at the joy of finding a new favorite book! :) <3

Absolutely loved this! As a identifying bisexual, this book hit all the main points 😭🫶🏼
This was such a cool memoir of essays, I picked this up from my university’s library because I had run out of stuff to read during my shift but boy do I not regret it 🫣
Some might not enjoy the book due to the often references of pop culture and social media but tbh as someone who came out as Bi during COVID, I understand how important social media was to me coming out and how it is important to others too.
I loved how messy, honest, and vulnerable this was !!

I’ll admit I was frustrated with the writing style at first, it felt like I was reading someone’s blog post and I couldn’t keep up. I’m glad I continued — the stronger essays were at the end and I ended up enjoying them.
