Took me by surprise with how beautiful it was. I really appreciate how the tone leaned hopeful instead of bleak. Maybe a bit of a sleeper hit but my favorite chapter was The Used-To-Be Party. A truly honest look at humanity's tendency to isolate ourselves out of the assumption that that's what best and what everyone else would prefer. Community is so important man!!

This is a solid collection of pandemic-era vignettes with more hits than misses. PIG SON absolutely wrecked me.

While a 4-star rating might feel a bit high for the collection as a whole, the standout vignettes are truly exceptional. For those pieces that shine, they'll stick with me for a long time.

"Pig Son" and "City of Laughter" made me cry out loud. Also, I would read an entire book of "30,000 Years Beneath a Eulogy".
