Super cute. Wren was hilarious and I loved little Beep. I just want to pick up that wittle baby kitty and put them in my pocket. Leo was very sweet. The ending felt a bit rushed but it was still good.

I absolutely loved this book. Wren was a great narrator, very sharp and witty. While I found the twists predictable, that did nothing to dampen my enjoyment (I also suspect most things weren't meant to be that mysterious anyway...). The writing was so good, I wish I could read the whole book again from Leo's POV.

I rounded up because I finished the book.
I’m not sure if I don’t like the narrator, or if I don’t like Wren, but I did like the impression I got from the MC. The tone of the narrator was dismissive when talking about everything and it made me perceive Wren as very narcissistic. I did not like him because I couldn’t root for him, he was pretty b-tchy the whole time, but not in an endearing way for me.
Ryan felt like she was there solely for Wren’s development and not her own person. Like she only showed up to help Wren and I never saw Wren help her or focus on her as a friend.
I got so tired of all the school events. I get that this is high school and there the student council, but I didn’t like going through each holiday and dance. I wish it had started closer to Valentine’s Day because it felt so slow to get there.
I hated the reveal. Like HATED it. I kept waiting for Leo to figure it out (seriously, how would he think it’s Steven after he knows ‘anonymous’ has chickens and Wren has chickens??) and it actually pissed me off that he got mad at Wren when it’s so obvious. Steven was so irrelevant to the end I don’t know why he was given so much time in the beginning. I thought maybe Leo would confront Steven and Steven would lie, but it went no where.
When I started this review, I realized this is the same author who wrote “Aces Wild,” and I’ve realized I’m just not a fan of the writing. Both books were slow to me and I don’t love the stories.

Such an adorable YA romance! Great LGTBQIA+ rep and such a fun story.
