This is definitely one of my favorite superhero comics. I have really enjoyed following this series (and am rather impatiently waiting for vol 4 of the ultimate collection).

I read this after watching the show on Amazon Prime Video so I knew what to expect going in. I loved the show, though found it very upsetting, and this matched my expectations clearly. I think theres a lot of media devoted to superhero deconstruction(shows/books like The Boys, or the book Hench for example) and this does that very well along with a coming of age story.

Excited to read more

Invincible is Robert Kirkman’s take on superheroes. It follows a family of 3, where the father and son have super powers. It sounds cliché but somehow in this introductory volume, Kirkman creates an intimate and thought provoking work.

You can tell these comics came out in 2003 and other than having a beeper it really dated itself with the homophobia. Shocker
