Oops finished this several days ago and forgot. Maybe this should a 3.5 but whatever. It was good, it was enjoyable and entertaining, very interesting to learn more about Carl even if some bits didn’t make a ton of sense. Not life changing incredible but I liked it

This book was absolutely fascinating! The first book, An Absolutely Remarkable Thing was about fame and I thought this one might follow the same vein but instead A Beautifully Foolish Endeavor talks about power. I've never really thought about power deeply before and this book got the wheels turning. My favourite quote was this one:

"The most impactful thing you can do with power is almost always give it away."

Overall, really recommend this duology! It's fun, thoughtful and there's some premises I still think about because they're such cool ideas.

I feel the same way about this book that I did about the first one. I think that Hank Green is really smart and writes like he’s really smart and I am not really smart so reading a really smart explanation of something is a little hard. I think if I cared more about science, these books would have been more my speed, but I don’t so here we are. However- I think the plot is really interesting, I think the majority of the characters are lovable, and I think it’s an excellent and very artful take on humanity. I think Hank Green does a beautiful job of exploring earth & humanity from an “outsider” perspective, which makes it feel far more beautiful and hopeful than looking at it from the inside. If you like science & understand it, I would definitely recommend this. It’s not exactly my speed but I finished both books and they were worth the time!

This book is a stunning end to the series! I truly was shaking and crying at the end. Love the writing and grateful for the words ❤️

I bought this before I had even finished the first book because I knew I wanted to continue the story. I didn't find this one as compelling as the first and I still hated all of the characters.
I was very disappointed when April May showed up again.
