The Five-Star Weekend was such a fun and emotional read! Imagine trying to heal from your husband’s death… by inviting his mistress to a weekend getaway with your closest friends 😳 Yeah, wild.
Hollis, a successful food blogger, brings together four women from different parts of her life for one big “healing” weekend in Nantucket. Of course, things don’t go smoothly. There’s drama, old wounds, secrets, and some real heartwarming moments too.
I loved the different personalities and how the friendships evolved (and exploded) over the weekend. Some parts were predictable, but I was still totally hooked. Perfect beach or weekend read if you’re into juicy women’s fiction with heart and a little mess.

I made it through about 1/5 of this and couldn't handle any more. I knew everything that was going to happen, and as I skimmed through the remainder of the book, I was right. A lot of times, that doesn't bother me. I often know how romance books will end, but I stay because of the quality of the writing and the interesting personalities within the story. that was not there for me in this one. I hated these characters. Also, because of the multiple POVs, nothing was really a surprise.
Easily a light read with a good story line. Not sure I like or find the epilogue necessary.

“Your life story in friends.”
I would give this a 3.5. It wasn’t a life changing story or had unbelievable prose but it was an easy, enjoyable, and, at times, a chaotic read. Hildebrand definitely knows how to write a page turner and loves the cheating, death of a spouse, and need for a retreat tropes. It would’ve been cool if she stuck with the “gossip girl”-esque narrator and I found the jumping between characters inner thoughts/back stories a little confusing at the start. HOWEVER, I would
