I "read" this novel as an audio-book and loved the reader. It is an engaging tale with many threads and always the focus on kindness and our common humanity. I found it comforting!
This continues to be one of my favorite series. I love the characters, and at this point they have become old and trusted friends.
I think it is good that Grace Makutsi got a job with Mma Ramotswe, because I don't think she'd have lasted long with any other employer in all of Botswana.
I love all the No. 1 Detective Agency books—they're good-hearted, gently funny, and occasionally piercingly, poignantly observant—but this is one of the highlights. The plot lines come together seamlessly—and in deeply surprising ways—and build to a deeply satisfying resolution.

This series just keeps getting better and better. In this one, Mma Ramotswe learns an important lesson about trust and there is plenty of gentle African wisdom and not a little humour thrown into the mix. Highly recommended for when you need a feel good read.
