The writing and prose is beautiful and all the different perspectives made this book truly thought-provoking and profound.

My only criticism of the book is that I wish it was longer. Unfortunately, I just wanted more of it! Some parts felt a little underdeveloped, but it was masterfully done even for how short it was.

I wasn’t sure how every story would tie together but the ending was so good and gut wrenching.
I didn’t think Iris could be redeemed, but by the end I really enjoyed her character development.

The writing is poetic and emotional, much like Another Brooklyn. The many different perspectives and constant shifting of time and place made it a bit disorienting in a way (not always in a bad way), but because of the breadth it seemed too short to accomplish all that needed to be said

The writing style is super jarring, but about 1/3 through I was acquainted enough with the characters to follow the narrative without having to read back a page. It's a challenging story of generational trauma, motherhood, love, understanding oneself and told through a family's eyes. It is beautiful and sad.
