The wordless illustrations are stunning and tell such a beautiful story.

A beautiful story about how toys can be real.

Absolutely charming! Reminiscent of The Velveteen Rabbit without the sad (bittersweet?) ending. And so many things were happening in each beautiful illustration! I just adored this book.

My boys both loved this one. They loved the idea of their pals sharing the world as we do, and they loved the magical illustrations.

I dislike these books that have random pages in the middle with no words where you are supposed to just follow the pictures. The kids think I’m trying to pull a fast one and cut story time short and it takes twice as long to try and explain “see what’s going on here? These weird forest animals with random crowns hovering over their heads are taking the stuffed toy home.”

Lovely. Has a beautiful message about imagination and love. A portion is wordless, the illustrations have a surrealistic quality.

A whimsical modern-day companion to Dogger by Shirley Hughes.
