I can't believe I read this whole series in a few weeks, it feels like I've been with the characters forever. The pacing of the story felt strange at first with Red Sister; I've truly never seen another example of the way in which time is used to skip years of a character's life and not have it feel like something is missing from the story. Nona grew up and I watched her do so from a 9 year old to a lethal woman. I can't help but wonder who would win in a fight, Nona Grey at her most powerful in Holy Sister, or Mia Corvere from Darkdawn. Very similar in many ways.
I feel like I need a break from reading after finishing this last book. It made me feel more emotional at the end than I thought I would, despite predicting the loss of many characters, as happens in war.
Amazing fantasy series.

I was a little disappointed in this. I really liked Red Sister, and loved Grey Sister, but this just seemed so slow. It was ultimately a satisfying ending to the trilogy, I was just expecting more on the way there.

11/10 please do yourself a favor and pick it up.

Pretty much everything that could be wanted for a conclusion to a trilogy with threads coming together and characters being fully realized. There are two timelines being told simultaneously which is nice as one picks up right at the end of grey sister but those chapters also fault a bit slower to get through in order to get back to the current timeline. A bit too many deaths at the end for my taste, I really didn't want to believe apple was gone, but I understand the choices made. Zole coming in deus ex machina was cool and even cooler after you find out glass put that in motion. As far as that goes glass basically sculpting these girls' lives to play out for the best interests of the plant was amazing. Also definitely had satisfaction at the very end when nona realized ara came back for her.
