well I am shocked at how much I enjoyed this book… the pacing 🤌🏼 (FINALLY)
I went into this book with no expectations because we really didn’t know anything about Sloane or Tobias except for a few things here and there from the other books so I didn’t know how this book was going to play out. lemme just say, they became my favorite pair of this series.
again, I did figure out the reveal but even so I still felt like the ending was pretty lackluster as far as the drama of it all.
now, regarding the last two chapter of this book, MY EMOTIONS. of all the books to almost make me cry I did not think this book would be on the list but here we are.

Sammi has a craft for writing complex characters with relatable personalities and feelings. Their back stories are dark, but she has created realistic characters that are brought to life as this series progresses.

Heartless Boys Never Kiss is the fourth book of the St. Mary's series. It is a complete standalone but it is highly recommended to read the series from the start.

The intensity of this story is electrifying. The tension between Sloane and Tobias is like getting too close to a burning flame, you want to move away because it's too hot but you're also pulled to its heat and are drawn to the beauty as the flame dances around.

I'm preferencing my review with my ultimate favorite part of this story is the HEA is unexpected. It's more of a beginning than an ending. For the main characters it is the perfect ending for them.

When you think everything is somewhat happy at St. Mary's...Sammi gives us Tobias and Sloane! We got glimpses of Tobias from his twin sisters, Gemma, point of view in Good Girls Never Rise and Bad Boys Never Fall. We knew Tobias experienced trauma, things unimaginable and is damaged beyond words. Everything about Tobias Richardson is complicated but you cannot help but fall for him. His personality is to the extreme but underneath the tough exterior he built around her heart is a boy who wants to feel. Feel emotions, feel heard, feel seen.

Tobias' tough exterior is slowly ripped apart when he collides with Sloane. Sloane is the friend you want. She's tough, outspoken, smart and beyond caring. She cares deeply for Gemma, Journey and Mercedes. Sloane's caring heart and dark secrets crash with each other as she is asked as a favor to tutor Tobias. Sloane is a light for Tobias. The push and pull between them, opens both their eyes. They see each other for who the other is and are the person each needs. Even though Sloane holds secrets, her beauty shines inside and out. Her heart draws Tobias in and ultimately he gives her his. They share many unspoken moments. They are the scenes that you read over and over because their relationship is one that doesn't need words to define.

Repeating again...Sammi does an exceptional job with character development and bringing the world of St. Mary's to life. Tobias and Sloane's story was dark, filled with anger and so much emotion but also so many little intimate moments.

"I watched as she changed in front of my eyes. She was no longer my sister’s best friend. She was no longer the girl who was tutoring me that I felt guilty for touching in the dark and blackmailing. She was everything I wanted in my future and everything I needed in my past."

Oh my heart...Tobias

you know when a book isn’t bad but it’s not good either? That’s how I feel about this series.

I love Tobias and Sloanes story!!

Their ending was a little different but after everything they've been through, it was completely expected and would have been wrong otherwise!

I can't wait for more from these characters 😍

I really loved Tobias and Sloane. I  really love being at St. Mary's i love the atmosphere, and the characters. S.J's writing really captivates you and it really feels like you are there at St. Mary's. I have absolutely loved this series.  I felt like the pacing was great, the romance was good.
