- There’s a big snow storm in the town of Silver Ridge, Colorado. A group of folks end up stuck together in the town’s library.
- There is an altruistic librarian, an unhoused drug addicted man, an older, cynical woman, a teenage girl that no one can figure out, & a security guard that likes to read.
- As the night goes on, we see there’s more to all of the characters beneath their surfaces.
- This was an easy, quick read.
- I enjoyed the writing style. Multiple POVs. Switched between Nora (the librarian), Marlene (older woman), & Lewis (unhoused man). There are some flashbacks/memories to prior moments, as the majority of book takes place on this one night.
- Major Breakfest Club vibes.
- There are some heavy topics throughout the book, such as losing a parent, drug addiction, loneliness, etc. For that reason, I would recommend starting the book when you are in the right head space for it.
Graphic: Drug use, Death of parent, Grief, Addiction, Drug abuse, and Death
Moderate: Suicidal thoughts
