Homing pigeons!
Kidnappers!
Car chases!
Nancy saves a child!
Nancy Noggin Knockout!
It’s all in a day’s work for our plucky heroine!

(Is anyone else concerned that Nancy collects “mementos” like a serial killer? j/k I am, however, concerned about her having CTE by the time she turns 30.)

Another fun adventure--though a dangerous one, too! It seemed to me that Nancy was bolder than ever--maybe even recklessly so . . . But maybe that's just me being anxious ;) Overall, it was a fast-paced and entertaining read, as expected!

Definitely not my favorite in the series, though I now know because I read [book:Girl Sleuth: Nancy Drew and the Women Who Created Her|84917] that this is because it was written by a different ghostwriter.

#10 does it again! Nancy's best quote: "I'll wire the International Federation of American Homing Pigeon Fanciers and give them the number stamped on the bird's leg ring." This is on PAGE 3! Written by a male ghostwriter, this story contains a lot of threats, voices in the dark, Nancy's head striking the pavement (#nancyheadknocks), and elderly people in danger at a supposed retirement home. This one did not disappoint!

Read this sort of on a whim because I stumbled on a copy of the original text, and I have exactly three thoughts about it:
  1. Yes, it's a mess, and it's (mostly) a fun mess, but I can see why this needed some work
  2. Nancy Drew has quite literally always been That Girl
  3. Historians will call them (Nancy and Helen) close friends

Good break in mystery to escape an asylum!

I had a massive Nancy Drew phase in third grade, which resulted in the accumulation of many of the books on my shelf. Over summer 2018, I stumbled across some copies in this indie bakery/bookstore in north carolina which of course, I picked up and started to read. Now I realized why I liked these books so much. Time to blow the dust off my copies and reread them! :)
