“Mr. Elton should have known better! He should not have allowed his wife to go off and get murdered in the first place! It is a very bad business, Emma. I do not approve.”
I found this audiobook to be so very charming. Kelly’s writing never felt silly or overdone, but perfectly pitched to the original. She nailed the characterizations of Austen’s creations, particularly Miss Bates and my favorite Mr. Woodhouse.

These charming and cozy mysteries in the style of Jane Austen are exactly my comfort read, and this one did not disappoint. The whodunnit aspect allows us to visit all our old favorite and play around in the world of the original Emma. Some of the portrayals were a little stiff, but overall I enjoyed the pieces of the original that was carried over and the ways they had matured. The mystery wasn't particularly twisty, though there are lots of suspects and accusations, but it was perfectly cozy.

It was too easy to find the murder... I am a bit disappointed.

This is a continuation of Jane Austen’s Emma, where a murder happens!! Emma “accidentally” finds herself involved in solving the murder. It was well written and fun to see the characters in a new, darker way
